Bear Fork Bill

Introduction to "Bear Fork Bill"

"Bear Fork Bill" will come to meet and greet you as you pull in the parking lot of Bear Fork Trading Post. Bill is very friendly but has a haunting and lonely look in his eyes. Bill belonged to the former owner of the "Trappers Inn" who is now deceased. Bill has developed "road smarts" as he travels up and down the highway (my theory is he's looking for his owner) and spends time at a local (nearby) residence. But when the doors of Bear Fork Trading Post open, Bill is there to meet and greet the lucky folk who all have the good fortune to meet him and give him a friendly pat on the head, just before you pass through the doors to hear some of the areas best  "Bluegrass/Country/Gospel Music.

Country Ramblers

The "Country Ramblers" were the featured group of the evening, graciously stepping in to cover a last minute cancellation. The Country Ramblers are from Upshur County, don't let the name fool you though as they can belt out bluegrass tunes also.

Bear Fork Trading Post Stage

Rick Falls the emcee of the evening shared the stage with many of his friends during the 8:00 - 9:00 hour.
Rick, being an extremely talented and musically gifted individual has been giving lessons on different bluegrass instruments at the Bear Fork Trading Post. His desire is to pass on the traditional sounds of our "musical heritage" to the young folks in our area.

In the photo scrapbook you will see Bob Richards' a long time musician friend of Rick's - Rick and Bob are talented writers and have collaborated on both lyrics and music to many tunes. In the scrapbook you will also see students of Rick's, with whom he shared the stage, to showcase their talents.

Now...........last but certainly not least, I must share with you the highlight of everyone's evening. Bear Fork has on a wall left of the stage 3'x3' signs of local business's who wish to advertise. Now some may have thought that the ladies in the kitchen were just there to cook and serve. Well let me bust that myth, the ladies in the kitchen can write jingles and they not only write them, but at the appropriate time Rick will call them to the stage to sing said jingles. They WOW the crowd.
